How active breaks can change the health of your company?

Today, human beings have the ability to concentrate, perform tasks or maintain focus for hours on a subject of interest. However, after an extended period of time sitting at a desk, the body begins to lose physical comfort and the mind begins to become saturated, thus losing concentration.

Active breaks are necessary to recharge energy and take care of your long-term health. Excessive mental effort, work fatigue and poor posture can cause illnesses that affect the circulatory, muscular, nervous, digestive and respiratory systems. In addition, its influence on mental health can affect your attention span and insomnia.

This is what exhaustion looks like, due to excessive hours resting in a chair.

What is this space about?

It consists of physical activity sessions during the workday, where exercises are performed to strengthen and stretch the muscles. So that, for a period of 5 to 10 minutes approximately, we activate our body and eliminate the stiffness caused by the constant position of sitting in a chair.

Some of its benefits mental and physical benefits are:

  1. Prevents chronic stress.
  2. Increases productivity.
  3. Improves posture.
  4. Promotes social integration.
  5. Prevents musculoskeletal injuries.
  6. Promotes circulation.

Among the activities performed in these breaks we find:

  1. Breathing activation.
  2. Neck and shoulder massage.
  3. Dance or zumba.
  4. Stretching exercises.
  5.  Sharing of snacks.
  6. Breathing exercises.

How do we do them at Consware?

One of our favorite exercises is stretching, in addition to snack sharing, which encourages socialization and social interaction among our employees. "Sitting and writing for a long time, in addition to keeping your mind busy, is at some point exhausting. For me, this space means a moment of meditation," says Ana Martínez, from the marketing area.
